 Mission Statement

Enrich for Life strives to improve the quality of life of higher-functioning adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through residential solutions and enrichment programs in Middle Tennessee.

Enrich House at Academy Street- Tour the home!  Join the remodeling effort.  Make a donation!  Located at 1314 Academy Street, the house is within walking distance of the Williamson County Public Library and Academy Park in historic, downtown Franklin.  The home will accommodate female residents with IDD.  Residential support will be provided in collaboration with local agencies.  This first Enrich House will serve as a model for additional homes that can be adapted to serve adults with all abilities.

Join Bocce Ball Teams with Enrich for Special Olympics - Sign up now!  We're seeking athletes for Bocce Ball Competition during SO Summer Games at Lipscomb University, May 18-19.  
Williamson County Special Olympics area director, Jon Stephenson, requests we fill two teams.  Practice time will be scheduled.  Three more athletes are needed!

BOWLING CONTINUES THIS SUMMER!  Unified bowling with Enrich begins again at Franklin Family Entertainment Center, Tuesdays, 3 pm - 4:30 pm.  Improve your bowling score, see friends, and get out of the heat for fun afternoons throughout the summer.  Email or call Allison for details.

Enrich for Life Small Worship Group - "Faith Friends" meets Wednesdays 6:00pm -7:30pm at Brentwood Baptist Church (BBC) each September - May.  This non-denominational group has been meeting since September, 2014.  Faith Friends meetings are filled with laughter, music, scripture reading, engaging lessons and prayer.  Participants build friendships within the church and learn more about their faith.  Special thanks to leader Cyndy Muirhead and to Brentwood Baptist Church for hosting Faith Friends this year!  Faith Friends members gather in front of the Connection Café at 6pm, enjoy live contemporary Christian music and fellowship in Haney Hall until 6:40pm and move to their own classroom from 6:45pm-7:30pm along with all other BBC Life Groups meeting on Wednesday evenings.

  • Advocate for local residential services for higher-functioning adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Create alternatives for supported independent living including residential support through housing, roommate identification and funding opportunities to assist with costs of living.
  •  Develop continuing adult education and personal development opportunities including social skills workshops, reading classes, art classes, and community events.
  • Promote good-health including through nutrition awareness, exercise, meal planning, participation in Special Olympics and other sports activities.
  • Encourage Spiritual Development through Faith Friends small worship group, engagement with the church community, concerts, other special events and field trips.

Enrich for Life is working with community partners to expand residential choices for adults with IDD, to increase fitness and wellness options, to facilitate ongoing adult education classes and greater opportunities for personal and spiritual development.
