Enrich for Life was founded to improve the quality of life of higher-functioning adults with IDD in Middle Tennessee with intellectual and developmental disabilities through enrichment programs, social and educational outings, one-on-one consultation, and pursuit of residential solutions.
Co-founders Chris and Allison Bender are motivated by a desire to provide housing and personal development opportunities for adults with special needs - men and women like their daughter, Carlye.
Few suitable residential opportunities exist for thousands of intellectually challenged adults in Middle Tennessee, if any. The Benders founded Enrich for Life to help explore new residential models for adults with IDD funded by their earnings, family/friend support, and funds newly available through TennCare - ECF Choices.
For those who qualify, TennCare funding for residential support is available for adults with IDD through Employment and Community First Choices.
Faith Friends, Enrich Bowling, Bocce Ball, and Acrylic Painting Classes, dinner and lunch outings, movies, holiday parties (and more) help our participants make "real" friendships, hold real conversations, and enjoy looking forward to whatever activities that appeal to the them!
Lasting beneifits include personal growth, improved social skills, self-confidence, empowerment, laughter, fun, life-long learning, and happiness.
Enrich provides consultation to help participants, parents, family members connect to find more benefits, more support, more opportunities to create enriched, fulfilling, safe, good daily lives.
We are individuals with varying abilities and disabilites. We are 22 years old and older! Join us to participate and to volunteer. We welcome YOU!
